In early 2006, Tawam Hospital and Johns Hopkins Medicine entered into a management agreement for the oversight of the hospital—an agreement that clearly indicates the importance of healthcare in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates. Over the past four years Tawam has overcome many of the challenges it faced in providing quality, efficient, and safe healthcare with our motto of "We treat our patients as we would treat our own family.
Tawam Hospital was designed in mind with the hope of providing health and medicine practition for better healthcare and a rewarding patient experience.

Human settled in Al Ain Area since seven millennium.Al Ain has been a focal point for its surroundings since earlier. In the past, desert caravans visited Al Ain regularly to get provisions. Now the city is a booming tourist attraction. The existence of fresh water has supported wide palm plantations. The city has developed from seven main palm oases where people have built their houses and forts since early ages,and it is served by many tourist facilities which combine traditions, heritage, history and modernity.
Al Ain is the third largest city in the UAE. According to the most recent census, it has a population of about 400,000. It is located in the Eastern Region of the emirate of Abu Dhabi, about 140 kilometers from Abu Dhabi and 120 from Dubai. It borders the town of Buraimi in Oman. Covering 12,955 km2, Al Ain is surrounded by mountains from the East and Empty Quarter Desert from the South-West
Climate
Al Ain has a sub-tropical, arid climate. Sunny, blue skies can be expected most of the year. Rainfall is infrequent and irregular, falling mainly in winter. The downpours can be spectacular. Al Ain's normally dried up river beds - the wadis- can become raging torrents. Temperatures range from a low of about 14C° in January to a high of about 49C° in August.

EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT.
Department Overview:
The Emergency Department at Tawam Hospital is comprised of 22 Treatment Beds which include 4 resuscitation beds. Also, we have 3 Fast Track rooms to accommodate less urgent patients. In addition, the ED contains a CT scanner, an X-ray room and a Laboratory. In the near future, we will be expanding our department to include eight (8) room Pediatric wing, two (2) more Fast Track rooms and a satellite pharmacy for emergency patients.
To provide safe, timely, quality emergency patient care in a compassionate and culturally sensitive manner It is the continuous mission of the Emergency Department.
